About Senior Citizens Inc.

 

Mission Statement for Senior Citizens Inc. of Delaware County

To provide motivating activities to help active older adults remain a vital part of Delaware County through education, recreation, socialization, exercise, and wellness.

 

Purpose of Senior Citizens Inc.

Education by offering classes to open new areas of learning.

Health partnering with health organizations to provide screenings, services and health-related information.

Wellness exercise and health-related activities.

Recreation and socialization to come together with peers and others from the community to reconnect or build new relationships.

Volunteerism to make information on volunteer areas available to older adults.

 

Organizational information  

The governing body for the center is a board of directors elected by the membership.  Senior Citizens Inc. of Delaware County manages the activity center for the Council for Older Adults. The executive director is responsible for the day to day activities for the center with at staff of 11 employees and over 50 volunteers.

 

Funding

The center is funded by member fees, the Council for Older Adults, grants and fundraisers.  Donations and sponsorships help to supply the funds to enhance the programming offered.
